Bill joined the USA Risk Group of companies as Executive Vice President of USA Risk Intermediaries, LLC in January 2013. Broadly based knowledge with worldwide experience, Bill Hodson began his reinsurance career with the G.L. Hodson & Son, Inc. organization after an internship in London, England, during which time he received specific reinsurance training at both C.E. Heath & Co., Ltd. and Lloyd’s of London. Bill worked for G.L. Hodson & Son, Inc. and its successor organization, Willis Re, Inc. in the Atlanta, New York and North Carolina offices. During that time, his focus gravitated toward specialty lines reinsurance placements, “program” oriented business produced through Managing General Agents, and Alternative Risk reinsurance placements for captives and Risk Retention Groups. Examples of classes in Bill’s portfolio of clients have included transportation business (including trucking), Professional Liability (physicians and lawyers), Property business (including Florida and Southeastern Cat exposed business), General Liability (including contractors), Excess Liability and Umbrella and Workers’ Compensation, to name a few.

Bill was also instrumental in establishing and growing a “fee for service” reinsurance and risk management consulting division for a large domestic reinsurance intermediary, Axiom Re, Inc. In that role, Bill produced and managed reinsurance related analytical projects for insurance companies and MGA’s, and quarterbacked the formation of captive insurance companies.
